Located just 7 kilometres north of Childers on the Bruce Highway you will find the charming townshop of Apple Tree Creek. A large park with bbq's is perfect for a picnic.

Visit FLYING HIGH FLORA AND FAUNA BIRD HABITAT, with over 70 species of birds including Australian Parrots, Finches and the beautiful amazing colour of the South American Macaws. CHILDERS MARKETS

Childers Markets are held on the third Sunday every month at the Historical Village grounds in Taylor Street, Childers. Gates open at 7:30 am

 

MON REPOS  is Australia's principle and best known sea turtle rookery supporting the largest concentration of nesting marine turtles on the eastern Australian mainland. Loggerhead, Flatback, Green and Leatherback turtles nest at Mon Repos to lay their eggs from November to February. Nesting turtles are best viewed after dark near high tide. Guided walks operate nightly from the Mon Repos Turtle Rookery Visitor's Centre.

The turtle hatchlings may be seen emerging fron their nests from early January to late March and are best viewed between 7pm and 12 midnight.
